Deliver US From Evil

God and God alone is the only one that can Deliver us from

evil. Evil came in when Satan lost his reign in Heaven, but God sent us his son as a deliver for us from evil.

We pray deliver us from evil, because we cannot resist the devil in our own strength.

We have been delivered from the penalty of sin, but there is always evil where temptation exist and we partake in the desires of the very things God delivers us from. The fleshly desires that we battle with each day. We are given a choice and even though there is evil in this world we can turn away from the sin that attempts to encroach our lives .

We often cry, Lord help us, but I have to ask , are we helping ourselves ?

The word of God in Psalm 71:4 is a word of pleading …

Rescue me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked,

out of the grasp of the wrongdoer and ruthless man, I have to ask

Are we turning away from the very things that we know will cause sin to come in?

Mathew 6:13 says And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’

In Jeremiah the Word of God states he will deliver us form the wicked ….

Jeremiah 15:21:“So I will deliver you from the hand of the wicked,

And I will redeem you from the grasp of the violent

We have to remember Jesus is our light, our salvation.

Psalm 27:1 the Word of God states The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

There is no fear in him. The fear comes in when we are outside of him.

Jeremiah 15:20:

“Then I will make you to this people

A fortified wall of bronze;

And though they fight against you,

They will not prevail over you;

For I am with you to save you

And deliver you,” declares the Lord.

So who will Deliver us from evil? The Lord.

What do we do in the deliverance ? We find the road less traveled . The unpopular road . Not the fence that most is on atop of, but the gate that is narrow . This is life. This is deliverance .

Many times we look and search for everything and everyone to bring deliverance from evil, but the one that can save.

STOP - TURN and REPENT. The Word of God says ….

Mathew 7:13-14…. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

We have been given Holy Spirit to help us , instruct us , correct us, most don’t incorporate him as deliver , helper , comforter … I ask you today, are you allowing Holy Spirit to be God over your life ?

Our Prayer today should be, I surrender all for you, come abide in me and create in me a your Temple so that you will reside and make me your dwelling place, where evil will not prevail me. Amen.
